"BiHuvud": A woman walks down a snow-capped boardwalk, along a winter’s ocean. An unsettling call heeds her to come forward. Frightened, she runs, trudging through the heavy snow, and falls. A masked figure in black looms over her. He begins to reel her back to his other world. With her pleas, he disappears for the moment. A man in a bowler hat appears and confronts the sinister figure to end her mourning and suffering. The two forces collide. The heavens thunder, the wild sea crashes, and the wind howls. Slowly, everything fades. The woman holds a gift from her Protector; a symbol of sanctuary and hope. Walking along the shore, the winter sea recedes to stillness as the redeemed woman resolves her difficult journey. Using mini-DV and super-8 film, BiHuvud was filmed on Coney Island during a blizzard in February 2006. The narration is a Swedish translation of the poem “Beehead” by Jeffrey Von Ragan.
